What batteries do the receivers use and where can they be purchased?
Only use premium quality PR70, 10ZA or A10 batteries rated 50mAh or greater, around 60mWh, from Better Sound, reputable battery suppliers or chemists that stock hearing aid batteries.
How long do the batteries last?
About 13 hours (continuous operation).
ONCE THE STICKER/TAB ON THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REMOVED THE BATTERY WILL DETERIORATE WHETHER IN USE OR NOT.
So batteries should be replaced regularly, i.e. once a day.
What’s the point of the sticker on the batteries that you have to remove before using the device?
These are zinc-air batteries. By blocking the air holes, the sticker prevents the battery running down unnecessarily.
PLEASE NOTE; TO ACTIVATE THE BATTERY, remove the tab and wait for at least ONE MINUTE before inserting the battery into the earpiece.
How can you tell when the battery is getting low?
At first “clicking” sounds will be heard across the audio, the frequency of which will increase with time. Then audio will disappear altogether giving way to white noise.
White noise will also be apparent if the transmitter is switched off, as the Squelch function on the earpiece no longer works.
What factors lead to noisy reception?
Too great a distance between transmitter and receiver. Low battery (also see above).
What happens to the Invisity settings when the battery is completely flat?
They remain stored.
How can I improve the snugness of the fit?
To get the best out of the ergonomic shape, turn the device in the ear. Softwraps can also be used to improve the seal and the fit – please contact Better Sound Ltd.
Why is the Invisity so quiet?
Dirt filter clogged or damaged. Settings not optimised.
What is the range?
As with all r.f. products, it depends upon a number of factors as well as the output of the transmitter. Closed rooms, obstacles between transmitter and receiver, other r.f. interference, building materials, humidity etc. all affect range.
In practice, the following results have been obtained: 30-50 meters with Phonak Studio transmitters .
The Invisity Four receiver is programmable from a wireless remote control* (RC). How does the RC work?
Press the centre button repeatedly to select the frequency (once for frequency 1, twice for frequency 2 etc.).
What is the maximum range of the RC to the receiver?
Up to 0.75 metre.
How do I get back to the default first frequency setting?
Switch the receiver off and on again.
